Rooms at Henry Howard
All guestrooms at Henry Howard Hotel offer perks such as premium bedding and air conditioning, in addition to amenities like free WiFi and safes. The rooms are fitted with a private bathroom fitted with a bath or shower. Options include Queen rooms, smaller economy rooms, and King rooms with sculptural beds and custom antique furnishings. The third room offers an open floor plan with Queen bed, ensuite bathroom, and spacious lounge area. Some rooms include balconies with 12-foot floor-to-ceiling windows. Three individual guest rooms share a common hallway that can be reserved together to create a private area for a large family or friends. Includes two Queen Superior rooms and one King Superior room.
Drinks at The Parlor
The polished marble reception desk also serves as a bar, where the bartender mixes up Sazeracs and other handcrafted cocktails. The front desk staff will enthusiastically mix you a cocktail. The Parlor, located inside the front entrance, has architectural accents such as original crown molding and red-pine flooring. The gorgeous, antique-filled lobby doubles as a lounge known as The Parlor, where light jazz plays throughout the day and the evening.
Leisure and Shared Spaces
The main terrace is chicly outfitted with black and white decor and strings of fairy lights that give it a romantic air at night. Guests can relax in communal space; it's more like a fancy friend's living room than a hotel lobby. The front porch is a relaxing place to enjoy coffee or cocktails. The balcony patio is half a block from St Charles, a place to watch the Mardi Gras parades. The courtyard in the back of the hotel provides a nice oasis.
Location Information
Henry Howard Hotel is in a quiet neighborhood surrounded by beautiful historic homes. It is a debonair townhouse in the low-key Lower Garden District, right around the corner from the bustling Magazine Street. Prytania Street provides even more tranquillity than its more famous neighboring thoroughfare. The hotel is one block from the Mardi Gras parade route on the oak tree-lined St Charles Avenue and 2 km from Union. It is also 20 km from New Orleans Lakefront. Guests can take the Carondelet Street exit toward St Charles Avenue.
Hotel Services
The property enjoys a mix of elegance and personal touches that create a family-style welcome. Award-winning press coverage includes The New York Times, Bergdorf Goodman, Vogue, and Conde Nast Traveler. The hotel provides a comprehensive walking tour map & guide that combines history, folklore, and the best cocktail spots. Guests can purchase locally inspired, custom products. At times, the hotel accommodates early check-ins and late check-outs; guests can store luggage at the hotel without charge. The hotel offers a photography package, including a 1/2 hour photography session, photo editing, and an online album of high-resolution images.
“The Henry Howard is where New Orleans charm meets boutique sophistication. I particularly like its Garden District location, which offers a serene escape while keeping Magazine Street's shops and restaurants within easy reach. It's more like staying in a stylish home than a hotel, with that inviting Southern hospitality.”
